ACADEMIC SUPPORTING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND CAREER READINESS summer youth internship program learn more learn more learn more The program enrolled over 3,100 at-risk youth ages 15-18 in internships during the 2023 Summer Youth Internship Program. The program seeks to provide diverse internship placement opportunities through the recruitment of a wide array of employers throughout Miami-Dade County. Student participants will receive a stipend of $1,500 and are required to report to their internship assignment 30 hours per week for five (5) weeks. They also will earn high school course credits and an opportunity to earn college credits. Cultural passport program learn more learn more learn more An educational initiative, in partnership with Miami-Dade’s various arts and cultural institutions, that provides all K-12 students with a different age-appropriate cultural experience each school year. To date, over 1.1 million students have participated in the Cultural Passport Program 135,000 M-DCPS Students. mini-grants for schools program learn more learn more learn more An annual mini-grant competition for schools to implement innovative educational activities that foster academic achievement. Each year, nine grants totaling $27,000 are awarded throughout the district. Student Scholarships program learn more learn more learn more Through the Posse Foundation and the College Assistance Program, deserving students will receive college scholarships. Over $120,000 in scholarships are awarded to deserving, graduating M-DCPS seniors each school year.
